Sharon

Hospital Administrator

A native of Ajax, Ontario, Sharon began her veterinary career right out of high school and learned the profession from the ground up. A few years later, Sharon met Dr. Bill Mingram at another clinic and worked with him for a short time..

When Dr. Mingram opened his own practice, he called Sharon and asked if she was available to come work alongside him again. Sharon gladly accepted. Her favourite parts of the job are the hospital’s wonderful clientele that she has come to know, her amazing team that makes coming to work a pleasure and the clinic’s adorable patients that she spends her days with. Sharon loved the idea of bringing a team of talented, caring people together to do incredible things in the world of animal care. She wants every pet owner to feel like they are part of the hospital family, and for them to know that their furry companions’ best interests are put above everything else.

Sharon and her husband, Scott, have four children: Tabitha, Ethan, Leah, and Luke. The family shares their home with two loveable dogs named Lincoln and Maybelle. When she isn’t spending time with her family or tending to hospital needs, Sharon enjoys kayaking on the lake and doing all things outdoors.

Sharon’s words to live by: Together, we can accomplish anything!

Daniela

Receptionist, Veterinary Assistant

Daniela was raised in both Toronto, Canada, and Valparaiso, Chile. It was her years in Chile, constantly trying to help the many homeless dogs and cats wandering the streets, that made her come to a realization: she wanted to devote herself to caring for all of the animals she possibly could. Daniela hasn’t looked back since—she’s now a proud member of the Clarington Animal Hospital family!

Daniela attended Sheridan College in Brampton to study animal care, and she’s been caring for pets and animal owners in many capacities ever since.

Daniela moved to Courtice with her husband in 2017 and joined the Clarington Animal Hospital team in May of the following year. She makes it her mission every day to help each and every visitor to the clinic feel welcome, comfortable, and part of the CAH family. Daniela’s favourite part of her job is chatting one-on-one with pet owners, and getting to know them better.

Away from the office, Daniela likes spending time with her husband, Aaron, relaxing in the great outdoors, watching soccer, traveling, and doting on her own pets. She has a Bull Terrier named Dexter—currently living with Daniela’s parents due to a special bond he has with her father—and three cats: Primo, Donna, and Kiwi.

Daniela’s words to live by: las cosas pasan porque tienen que pasar, which means “things happen because they have to happen.” It helps Daniela to remember that every experience plays a role in shaping who she is!

Kristi

Customer Service Representative

A native of Toronto’s east end, Kristi began her veterinary journey in 1994 when she was offered a position as a receptionist and veterinary assistant at a local animal clinic. When the doors of the Clarington Animal Hospital first opened, Kristi happily joined the team. She finds working with dogs and cats to be one of the most joyful things to do.

Here at the clinic, Kristi enjoys spending time at the front desk getting to know clients and their beloved pets; she makes it her personal goal to ensure that every client and patient feels welcome and cared for. She especially loves getting to watch pets grow up from babies to seniors. In addition to her duties here at the hospital, Kristi works as an instructor at a dog training facility in Ajax, where she’s able to help dog owners train their canine companions.

Along with her husband, Chris, and her two daughters, Casey and Erin, Kristi shares her home with a menagerie of pets. The family has two dogs—Ripley the Sheltie and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Penny—as well as a pair of cats who go by Hazel and Primrose.

When she has a spare moment between work and family life, Kristi enjoys camping, hiking, canoeing, and kayaking. She’s also fond of tossing the ball or Frisbee for her dogs, reading a good book and cooking.

She’s partial to puppy and kitten visits—nothing beats seeing them grow up into happy, healthy adult pets over time. Joelle loves to do her part to strengthen the bond between pets and their humans. Her other favourite part of the job is the welcoming, family-centered clinic environment that she gets to work in every day.

When she isn’t at work, Joelle spends most of her time at the hockey arena watching her children’s games. She and her husband, Bruno, share their home with their two sons, Leam and Peyton, as well as a sociable and handsome cat named Keo. Joelle also enjoys reading, hiking, playing soccer, camping, and traveling throughout the country.
