Happy New Year! As we leave 2016 behind and move ahead into 2017, many people are setting new personal goals for the next year. If you are making resolutions this year, why not include your kitty? Read on as an Oshawa, ON vet lists some great resolutions for people with cats.
Play With Your Pet
Kitties look super cute when they are being frisky! Playing isn’t just fun for cats, though: it’s actually great for them! Batting that catnip mouse around keeps Fluffy moving, which is terrific for her physically. Play sessions also provide your feline buddy with beneficial mental stimulation. Take time to play with your pet every day!
Keep Kitty’s Powder Room Clean
Cats hate dirty bathrooms, and who can blame them? Be sure to keep Fluffy’s litterbox nice and clean.
Bring Fluffy To The Vet
Most cats should come in at least once a year, though some furballs may need to see us more frequently. Fluffy may meow pitifully in protest during the car ride to the veterinary clinic, but don’t be swayed! Your adorable pet will be much healthier—and therefore happier—if she sees the vet regularly.
Keep The Furball Safe
Your furry little pal may think she is the undisputed queen of the world, but in truth cats are very fragile and can easily get hurt. Keep your home safe for Fluffy by removing dangerous items, like toxic plants, medicines, chemicals, plastic bags and wrappers, and small or sharp objects. We also strongly recommend keeping your furball indoors, where she won’t be exposed to the dangers posed by cars, chemicals, and other hazards.
Keep Fluffy Purring
It isn’t hard to keep your feline friend happy. Providing your cat with good food, proper care, and lots of toys and comfy napping spots is a great start. It’s also very important to pay attention to Fluffy every day. Talk to her, play with her, and pet her.
Let Your Cat Inspire You!
Fluffy can actually be very inspiring! Kitties can serve as adorable, furry reminders for us to eat well, get plenty of rest, have fun, and show affection. These are actually some great life rules to live by, and can make terrific resolutions.
