Happy New Year! We’re more than happy to finally be rid of 2020, and we suspect that many of you feel the same. With 2021 ahead of us, this is a great time to think about what the new year will bring. We’re more than happy to leave predictions about politics, entertainment, sports, and other topics to the experts. However, we have a pretty good idea of what some of our feline patients will be up to. A Bowmanville, ON vet lists some of them in this article.
Nap
It doesn’t take a psychic to predict this one. Cats are very tired! In fact, your feline pal may very well sleep through most of 2021! Give your furry little friend lots of comfy beds to snuggle up in.
Steal Your Chair
Kitties are very opportunistic, especially when it comes to seeking out comfy napping spots. Fluffy may very well hop into your chair if you get up for something. She’s also not above curling up in a basket of warm laundry, or even stealing your blanket!
Mystery Sprint
Cats really are quirky little furballs. One thing that is always amusing is watching them suddenly decide to race across the house at full kitty speed, for no apparent reason. Fluffy may finish her sprint with a little victory meow.
Box Takeover
One of Fluffy’s most adorable quirks is her obsession with boxes. Bring your furry pal empty boxes every now and then.
Ignore You
Our feline overlords are small, but they clearly have pretty big opinions of themselves. They can also be, well, a bit rude. At some point, you may realize that you haven’t seen your cat in a little while. You may then start calling Fluffy, but to no avail. Just as you start to worry, you’ll likely find your pet relaxing somewhere … and, of course, blatantly ignoring you.
Play
Fluffy may slow down as she ages, but she’ll always be a kitten at heart. Even senior cats benefit from regular play sessions! Try to play with your frisky pet every day.
Purr
Cats are very cuddly, and many of them love to snuggle up with their humans. Pay lots of attention to Fluffy this year! As your Bowmanville, ON veterinary clinic, we’re looking forward to helping you keep your pet healthy in 2021 and beyond. Call us anytime!
