Cute Ways To Celebrate National Cat Day With Fluffy
August 1 2022
All hail our feline overlords: Canada’s National Cat Day is coming up on August 8th. Cats certainly deserved to be celebrated! These little furballs provide us with endless comic entertainment, and also just have a way of melting our hearts with their snuggles, purrs, and adorable quirks. Read on as an Oshawa, ON vet lists some fun ways to get Fluffy’s little motor going on her special day.
Catnip
It probably isn’t a big surprise to find this one at the top of the list. Fluffy is always fun and cute, but she goes to another level when she’s enjoying the effects of her favorite plant. If your furry pal doesn’t seem affected by catnip, offer her honeysuckle cat toys instead.
Box Castles
Fluffy clearly thinks of herself as a supreme being, but fortunately for us, she doesn’t have purrticularly expensive taste. An empty cardboard box or a paper bag with the handles cut is bound to please your adorable pet.
Toys/Playtime
Did you know that playing with your feline buddy is one of the best things you can do for her? Playing benefits her mentally and physically. Plus, it’s just cute to watch! Get Fluffy a new plaything to bat under the couch.
Photo Session
Fluffy may very well be one of the cutest things on the planet. We just never get tired of seeing adorable cat photos. Snap some pics of your furry little friend!
Entertainment
If you like to wind down by watching TV, as many of us do, you may want to pick something cat-themed for the night. If you want a family-friendly option, you can opt for Puss In Boots, The Aristocats, or any one of the Garfield shows or movies. Looking for something a bit darker? Keanu is a good choice. There’s also Stephen King’s Pet Semetery or Cat’s Eye. We just can’t in good conscience recommend Cats, the musical.
Veterinary Appointment
To be fair, most of our feline patients would probably scratch this off the list, and opt to take yet another nap instead. However, proper veterinary care is crucial to your kitty’s health and well-being. If your furball hasn’t been in for a while, let this serve as a reminder to make an appointment!
